FAQ
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HIRE A GAME MASTER?
Less than you think!
All of our pro GMs build a game tailored to your requirements, so the price will always vary. The main elements that get taken into account are the distance the DM has to travel, how many players, the length of game and the time of day you wish to run the game.
CAN WE HIRE A GM FOR AN ENTIRE CAMPAIGN SPANNING SEVERAL WEEKS?
Of course!
Most of our GMs already have regular games set up with many of our clients. These range from families to corporate dungeons and dragons games that take place once a month.
DO YOU HAVE REGULAR GAMES THAT A SINGLE PLAYER CAN JOIN?
Yep!
All of our GMs run regular games each week. These tend to be held in local pubs on Mondays or Tuesdays. Check our facebook page for regular updates on games in your area. And yes, these are ticketed so to play you would need to book beforehand.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GAME MASTER AND A DUNGEON MASTER?
The answer is Wizards of the Coast’s intellectual property
A DM is someone who runs only Dungeons and Dragons games. A GM runs both D&D games as well as other roleplaying games that are out there. A GM can only call themselves a DM if they play Dungeons and Dragons. AND a DM can’t call themselves a DM if they’re playing a game that is not Dungeons and Dragons.
WHO ARE LONDON DUNGEON MASTERS? AND ARE YOU BREAKING COPYRIGHT?
They’re us! And no, we’re not!
We set up London Dungeon Masters as a brand to sit under the official company name Rolldark. Since we only offer professional DMs we can use the term Dungeon Master in our marketing, but would never be allowed to call our company that name, even though we deal solely in Dungeons and Dragons with anyone we interact with from the facebook page.
I’VE DM’ED BEFORE, CAN I BECOME A PROFESSIONAL GM?
Maybe?
We are always open to hearing from potential GMs who want to work with us. Although, we have a strict selection process as we only want GMs that can put on a great show, so a performance background or something similar is ideal. Also sometimes you might have to work with children or people with special needs, so a strong ability to read a room and its players is needed. Empathy with a great understanding of people are our most treasured qualities. If you’re interested, please send us an to info@rolldark.co.uk or visit our contact page.
