THE ROLLDARK Team

MAY WE INTRODUCE YOUR NEXT GAME MASTER

ROBERT BRADLEY - FOUNDER OF ROLLDARK & PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Oxfordshire

Soon after this image was captured, Robert engaged in a fierce battle against a team of corporate Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts. But little did they expect him to unleash the formidable Tiamat upon them. The players had this to say about their experience:

“As total beginners with Level 1 characters, we were expecting to face kobolds or perhaps even a goblin, but when the god of dragons appeared, our Level 1 characters lasted less than a millisecond.”

Robert, the author of the Reckoning Turbines Steampunk series, has been an avid Dungeons and Dragons player for the last 20 years. He says,

“Role-playing games have unlocked my creativity and have been a great tool for writers struggling with writer's block. Through the decisions made by the characters, a wealth of conflicts arise, providing endless inspiration for stories.”

Robert is also the founder of Rolldark Game Master Agency. He explains,

"There are many Dungeon Masters, each offering something unique to players. What we've done at Rolldark is curating a group of DMs that offer more, not just in terms of storytelling but also in terms of experience and depth. I believe that being a DM is a skill and a talent that should be celebrated as a profession."

JORDAN CARMICHAEL - PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

East Midlands

As the DM, Producer and Editor for the Modified Roll Podcast, founder of Actual Play UK and bestselling DMsGuild author, Jordan has plenty of experience telling stories through ttrpg's, creating exciting living worlds and making the occasional dumb joke or pun. He has been creating and telling stories through tabletop roleplaying games for over a decade as part of produced productions, live stage performances, convention play, professional games and just for the fun of it, and he can bring all of this experience to your table.

With a focus on storytelling, immersion and, where possible, allowing you to get more in touch with your character, Jordan's games are designed to bring your characters to the forefront and really get to know them, because where would the story go if we didn't have them? He can bring a vast array of themes and styles, but prefers games with high fantasy and a just a touch of reality (because lets face it, none of the villains we can imagine could be worse than the reality!).

So if you want games that have traps, puzzles, engaging NPC's, laughs, tears, tense combat, immersive roleplay, dungeons, dragons, intrigue and more... Well then you'll probably have to play in a few different games, but you're sure to get at least a few in!

HARRY JEPHEART - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

South West London & Kent

Harry is a voice-over artist & full-on film fanatic. He fell in love with D&D 8 years ago & loves going for the cinematic approach, whether it be building up to epics battles or sitting down & sharing a drink with an enemy on neutral grounds. His worlds can be a melting pot of genres, dropping a haunted house here, a western town there & even finishing off with a pinch of sci-fi from time to time.

I never let the rules get in the way of imagination. If players are feeling especially daring, then I’m happy see where it goes & let the dice do the talking.

Harry’s campaigns take favour in storytelling, with comic book-esc villains sprinkling in minions & monsters when necessary. He loves making elaborate npcs, both good & bad, that the characters come to know & love…

If heroes can become villains then why not the other way round? I love when someone makes a character change their ways even slightly… because the ripple effect that can have on the story is so exciting & unpredictable!

FERNE ROMANIUK - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Merseyside & Northwest England

Ferne is an actor, writer, voice artist and all around creative from Merseyside, with a love of history, mythology and lore that makes their games rich and detailed.

Ferne is a professionally trained actor, having studied at East 15 Acting School in Essex to a Master's Degree in Acting.

With skills in intensive character work, poetry and in-universe writing, game mechanics and homebrew-friendly gameplay, theres very little that Ferne is unwilling to try and achieve for your game. They are adaptable and flexible to suit the needs of any play style simultaneously, and provide a universal standard of entertainment regardless of previous experience or preference in table top gaming.

Ferne's own experiences with D&D started with a half elf warlock of Orcus in an "Out of the Abyss" home game way back in 2017. Since then, Ferne has created two entire homebrew worlds to explore: One a high fantasy epic world started in 2020, and the other a grungy, lived in fantasy space setting inspired by D&D's Spelljammer, with influences from classic sci-fi and fantasy genres overlapping both worlds.

These ever evolving homebrew settings are constantly refined and inclusive of all players offerings and experiences. Ferne's most important rule of GMing is hardly ever saying no, instead choosing to add to any creative offering. This brings their players and characters fully into the high fantasy world of "Aethir" and science fantasy galaxy of "Eutheria" in a personal and meaningful manner.

Ferne's favourite characters to play are always villains; highlighting their belief that a good hero is only as heroic as their enemy is complex and villainous. This endures in game by making actions of everyone, player or non-player characters, have impact, depth, long term consequences and great rewards for risks that pan out.

For Ferne, the point of D&D and TTRPGs is to share stories, create worlds of imagination, and have fun; "It's a game, so let's play!"

Your characters and stories are in safe and sage hands with Ferne, who will always give back double the joy and love and creativity offered to them.

NAYOMIE JADE - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

North West London

Nayomie is a secondary school Drama Teacher who runs a club at their school, as well as their own campaigns at home. They have also worked with live D&D theatre shows previously.

“I like to run referential games with a twist. My games are roleplay-focused but still provide plenty of opportunities to be the hero. I love bringing new people into the game, especially people who think D&D isn’t for them. There’s something here to enjoy for everyone!’

VICKY HAWLEY - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

West London

Vicky is a comedian and performer with seven years and four continents of storytelling experience. Her play style is adaptable and collaborative, creating loveable NPCs, treacherous villains, and immersive worlds. Whether she's running a game for a few first-time players in a quiet pub, or an audience full of RPG fans, her aim is always to tell an epic story together in an environment where everybody feels welcome.

"Tabletops are about having fun, and what better way to have fun than going adventuring with your friends at just the right time to save the world?"

When not being the forever GM for her friends, Vicky does comedy in London, Edinburgh and beyond, and has fun LARPing!

JAMES BURROWS - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Cambridge - Cambridgeshire

With over 5 years DMing experience, James enjoys creating rich tangible worlds that draw his players back to his table.

It’s true, having items from the world for the players to hold helps invest them in the story and feel a part of your world.

Sprawling epic campaigns are his forte, where he takes players to as many interesting and exciting places as possible.

For me really it’s an excuse to make as many different maps and do as many accents as possible! I simply love Dungeons and Dragons.

RICHARD MORTIMER – ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Midlands

A full-time Firefighter Richard has been playing Dungeons and Dragons for over 30 years. His parents read bedtime tales of Middle-Earth to him. In a playground filled with children being Superman, Spiderman and Hulk; he was Aragorn.

“Yes – school was pretty tough! But this amazing world was revealed to me. Then I discovered the Fighting Fantasy books which allowed me some element of control over stories and to be the hero. Dungeons and Dragons was a natural progression.”

When his local library faced closure Richard joined a company of volunteers to ensure that it would remain open. On a Monday morning he can be found reading stories and singing songs to pre-school children and their carers.

“Bringing stories to life for the children with different voices is an absolute joy. It creates a more immersive experience. Some of the characters I take on will find themselves turning up in the games I run.”

Richard has travelled extensively and lived for a while in New Zealand. He draws on his experiences to provide interesting worlds to explore, filled with colourful characters.

“Every player has something unique which they bring to the game but I feel that the shared experience is why Dungeons and Dragons is so amazing.”

CHRIS HYGGE - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Bristol & Cardiff

A lover of games and voice actor, Chris takes his GM duties seriously.

"It's about creating a world and experience that the players can lose themselves in, not unlike a great story-driven video game the experience should have you sailing through emotions"

Chris has been playing pencil and paper rpg's since he was 15 with an ill-fated turn on Shadowrun 2nd edition and Warhammer FRPG, seriously who needs that many D6's Shadowrun?

An avid World of Warcraft player too, Chris can usually be found working through stories in his home office space either in a game or on a word processor.  But his real love is bringing characters to life through accents and language.

"I started doing voices years ago and then after a few voice acting gigs came about I found I had a knack not just for accents but emotion portrayed within the accent, from their players have always been hooked."

ROBYN TENNANT - PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER
LONDON

Firstly, no, she's not related to David but she does come from the same town as Neil.

Now that we've settled that - Robyn is a self proclaimed agent of chaos and likes her table to reflect that. The rule of cool is sacred to this Geordie and she likes her tables to be small havens of mayhem where players feel safe to be the purest, most chaotic expression of their characters.

An actor by trade she relishes in giving the roleplaying bug to first time players, be that little kids or big ones with beards, and is easily bribed with tea and/or sweets to let you do the stupidly ridiculous plan that lets you land the killing blow in the boss fight.

In closing your honour, I would like to say that humans have been telling stories around campfires together for generations so we might as well honour that great tradition with snacks, minis and copious amounts of dice.

JACK PRICE - PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

London & South

As a professional screenwriter by day and a masked crime-fighting GM by night (DC:10 Insight check to find the lie in that sentence), Jack brings years of expert storytelling experience to the table. This is alongside a bag of holding brimming with homebrew worlds, original monsters, and memorable NPCs. Jack's games revolve around the “rule of cool” and embrace wacky chaos to create unforgettable, irreplicable, and often frankly unhinged moments at the table. If you like your tabletop cocktail with a chaser of undiluted silliness, you’ve come to the right place.

MATTHEW CHESTERS - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

East London

As a Voice Actor, former English teacher, occasional writer and lapsed sketch comedian, Matt adores the story-telling potential of TTRPG's. As a homebrew aficionado, he's been using the table to tell immersive, intricate and thrilling stories for many years. A firm believer in collaboration and player-driven storytelling, Matt pours passion and detail into every world he creates, but always keeps his style adaptable and fluid, making whatever subtle changes needed in the moment to give the best experience for the players.

Matt has worked as a Voice Actor and an English teacher - both workplaces where a silly voice is worth its weight in gold. Whether your adventure leads you to a booming-voiced demon, a louche baritone salesman, a nasty little goblin or a bin-diving racoon called Fabien, Matt will bring each of them to glorious life.

With a strong background in comedy, even his more serious games have flexibility in their tone for a bit of levity. In Matt's experience, however serious your campaign might be, there will always be that one session where you laugh harder than you have all week.

Matt's repertoire includes everything from a long-running epic to a single session heist - his favourite setting being the many adventures he has run in the village that calls itself Crazy Town. He ran several campaigns on Rol20 during the pandemic, so can be flexible to meet whatever needs you may have.

JACK SIMPSON - PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

South East London

Jack is an experienced Professional Actor, Voice Performer and bonafide nerd who, after falling in love with Dungeons and Dragons, has racked up countless hours of DM experience. With a fondness for stories that weave together comedic flare, dramatic peaks and cinematic action, he knows the best way to find these moments is constantly via the players.

“There’s no one person at a table more important than the next when it comes to D&D. When we sit down to play, we’re a team with a mission: to tell a cracking story, and have an absolute blast telling it. Look at the Fellowship- by the time those eagles rescue Frodo and Sam; everyone has played a part in getting that ring up that mountain!”

Jack loves working with players' interests and characters' backstories to craft personal stories, beats and unique moments for every group at his table. Combine that with a flair for improvisation, character voices, and undying love for the rule of cool - (cue guitar riff) - Jack is an ideal DM for veterans and newbies alike.

ALEX BALL - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Birmingham

Alex is an amateur actor, dancer, and professional burlesque performer. Despite only being a Game Master for a year and a half, he has racked up a mountain of game time and has developed a style of play that combines combat, social encounters, and more than a dash of humour.

With my history of sketch show writing and cabaret performance, I can think on my feet and often adapt scenarios to get the biggest laugh out of my players.

Alex draws inspiration from anything he can get his hands on, from video games to TV and film, to laundry and the plight of being a coeliac in a gluten-filled world. No two games are ever the same, and expect a healthy dose of weird NPC’s that you will inevitably fall in love with.

REUBEN AUSTIN – ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Merseyside

Reuben is a is a professional musical theatre actor, composer, writer and enthusiast who was introduced to D&D in his second year at Edge Hill University and fell in love with the game instantly, to the extent that he is now working on D&D the Musical.

After a few years of playing, Reuben took to DMing during the first lockdown; after his friends mentioned in passing that they could potentially be interested in playing the game, he took it upon himself to create a layered, nuanced world for classic D&D Campaign that nobody asked for and took up most of his free time.

I live by the rule of cool; if my players want to do something, I will usually figure out a way to do it within the mechanics of the game or just makeup something off the top of my head to see what happens.

Since then, Reuben discovered Dimension20 and became a smaller, more English, bespectacled Brennan Lee Mulligan, and now specialises in creating worlds that are a little different to the classic settings; for example, setting campaigns in the modern world, the Disney universe, and the works of Shakespeare amongst others. He always finds a way to involve his passion for ancient mythologies and beliefs, uses his skills as an actor whenever possible, and loves to talk about himself in the third person.

CALLUM FRASER - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Reading - Berkshire

For the last 8 years Callum has run a Dungeons and Dragons campaign consistently.

This started as 4e, but transitioned to 5e once I'd gotten the hang of the rules.  Whilst several players have had to drop out over the years, most of them are so invested in the story, that they've continued to stay in the group chat to be kept up-to-date with the game!  With players in America, Denmark and Holland, it's a pretty multicultural mix.

The Cyber Security Specialist has also run Fate, Savage World, and Age of Rebellion...

5e is where I'm most comfortable.  My main campaign is a homebrew world, but I'm also pretty knowledgeable about Exandria and Eberron and Forgotten Realms.

ALEX MAUDE - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

South London

A professional actor who has been DMing for 6 plus years. Alex’s DM style focuses on a nice mixture of combat, RP and puzzle strategy.

“I like to run long campaigns so as to allow for great character development.”

A true master at improvisation, storytelling, character portrayal and flexibility. His playing style is fun but can get really detailed for total submersion.

His DMing has even been described in the past as “Mercer-esque”.

ZACH FALCONER-BARFIELD - ROLLDARK PROFESSIONAL DUNGEON MASTER

Zach, though in the real world is an entrepreneur, trained as an actor and has been lecturing in Public Speaking & Presentation for over a decade as well as dabbling in writing & comedy.

Improvisation, Critical Thinking, Negotiation, Difficult decisions... No, not a day at the office nor a business course but an evening of Dungeons & Dragons. That is why it has always appealed to me, so much to learn while unlocking ones creativity! And oh yeah killing some monsters along the way.
