Top 6 Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures in the UK

Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures in the UK

We have it pretty tough here in the UK when it comes to finding decent Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures in the UK. Rocking out D&D Minis during our tabletop battles is for some the very reason they came to the game in the first place.

Using miniatures is exactly like using maps in Dungeons & Dragons, they add a level of support to your imagination, plus you get a better sense of where they are in relation to enemies, traps and what you can utilise around you to strategically improve your game.

If you’re proud of your character, do them justice with a slick paint job.

Finding Dungeons & Dragons miniatures in the UK is an exhausting effort. Though just because D&D is massive over the pond, it doesn’t mean there aren’t some great products out there.

So here are Rolldark’s top UK miniature manufactures and brands you can get your hands on.

Pathfinder Bestiary Pawn Box

Created as a game to combat the flaws in the 3.5 edition of D&D, Pathfinder has really come into its own, offering some excellent hard-wearing fold-out maps as well as a huge collection of minis. Granted these are made of cardboard, but the amount you can get in just one of the many boxes is of serious value.

Reaper Miniatures

Arguably the largest collection of relevant plastic unpainted minis that are perfect for D&D.

Further to this, the price point is excellent and for those serious collectors, they also offer metal minis.

A Song of Ice & Fire

With what promises to be a fantastic RPG, the dudes at CoolMiniOrNot Inc claim that the GOTs miniature tabletop game will feature some of the most detailed examples of mini sculpture to date. And of course you can use these as Dungeons & Dragons minis in your games, just don’t tell the WOTC!

They’re due to drop on August 1st…

Hero Forge

We are a long way off a UK version of this excellent service, but if you can wait 60 or so days for your orders to arrive, Hero Forge is a great miniature provider. Each design is totally custom with a nearly endless amount of choices to bring your characters to life.

Geek Tank

A much better version of the pathfinder tokens above, though these minis from Geek Tank where the artwork is ace, the decision to cast them on black backgrounds somewhat makes it tough to see them on the map, and they can also be a bit flimsy. But, if you’re looking for a load of choice in your minis for monsters and such, you do need to check them out…. especially at that price point.

Wizkids Minis

As the official D&D minis, you’re likely to find any type of monster represented in the wizkids collection. The only downside is that the pre-painted paint jobs look like they’ve been done by someone in the dark, with one arm tied behind their back while hanging upside down.

If you want the official minis, and you can find the models you want, go for the unpainted option every time.

There you have it, the top 6 Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures available in the UK. If you know of anywhere else that sells or produces minis, please reach out to us as we would love nothing more than to share them with the Rolldark Player Network.
