If you’ve lived here all your life, you know the truth. Kiklo is as dangerous as it is enchanting. Some even call it a nest of sea snakes. Here, the stark class disparity between the affluent nobles and the struggling locals drives many Kiklans into the cutthroat world of piracy. The ruling class is both brutal and greedy, and in Kiklo, a captured pirate is a hanged pirate.

A civil war is brewing across the islands, with ruthless pirate gangs led by the fearsome Kulwari, the self-proclaimed Seal Queen of Kiklo, clashing with the forces of the imperial governor Benjamin Fargo, a man infamous for his endless hedonism and appalling cruelty.

To make matters worse, enormous sea monsters have begun terrorising the waters, dragging ships to their watery graves and feasting on their crews. Thousands have perished, and priceless treasures have been lost forever. No one knows why these ancient beasts are awakening now, and the indifferent aristocracy, already drowning in riches, does little to find out.

That is, until the loss of one particular ship – the Durweston, a scholar’s vessel sailing from the university city of Melisses, which never made it to port. As adventurers, you will have free reign over the ninety-nine isles and beyond to uncover its fate. The mission is clear: find the wreckage of the Durweston and retrieve the journal of a scholar on board. The reward? A life-changing fortune.
